The Height Update.

Hello fans of The Height.

It has been a transitional and sobering past few months. Since playing shows in Austin, TX, which was an amazing and inspiring experience, a band member has decided to move on to focus on his solo career. Thank you for all you've contributed Gabriel Fuson, we will miss the sweet harmonies, jovial laughter, and your presence in this project.

This has caused us to take a step back and reflect on the shifting dynamic in The Height. After some time we've realized that this change is a blessing. We've gotten re-inspired! We have been searching for new players and we are confident that the new line up will help us manifest the power that we've envisioned The Height to represent. With the release of our new EP on the rise we will be taking a few months to rehearse with a new drummer and keyboardist. Then, we will be booking shows regularly and exclaiming sweet, authentic heart, soul revealing, and unabashed truth in to your ears.

Please stay tuned.

The Height performing their original track "Finding A Place".

We are moving onward and upward with continuity and passion. There are moments of discouragement. There are moments of bliss. Altogether, it is a realization shaping entity always seeking full artistic authenticity and expression.

The Height in the Studio!

The Height in the Studio!

We have been working on our first EP and let me tell you it is powerful! We can't wait to be able to give people a professional recording!

The above photo is Aden and Justin Sach our studio engineer. He is the best engineer I've experienced thus far. He's very polite and holds space for us artists to really delve into creativity. I'd recommend Studio SQ to any musician.

This is our next step in our musical journey. Onward and upward! Hopefully we can actually make some money at our show by selling our EP!

Hello everyone. Above is a video of a song called "Tangled Twine" by "The Height". This is footage of our show we played with the Broken Cities at The Uptown in oakland. It was a super fun night and we are looking forward to playing more in the near future.

We have been on hiatus from playing shows recently because we have been recording our first ALBUM!!!! Super exciting for us. We are feeling very stoked with what is coming to be with this creative endeavor.

Oakland Art Murmur! What a blast!

Gosh Durnnit it was fun to play at the Oakland Art Murmur! Total... total... complete.... total reinspiration!!!

I say reinspiration because I am aware that when I'm not doing the things I love like performing what I've spent years perfecting, I can get in to a funk. I am aware that my largest lesson in my career and life is to find what keeps me inspired on my off time when I'm not performing.

Man, when I get up there and play, and even after I play, time stops for me. I feel like I'm getting to a point with performing where I can more deeply embody what I am saying in my songs. It is certainly a high.

All I can say from experience. As an individual, we need to find a way to do what our deepest hearts desire is and keep doing it until that is all your are doing in your life. And when your in a funk, remember how you felt when you do what you love so you can use that memory of the high to motivate you to move.

BLAM!!!

I hope someone reads this.

We played a house party on judgement day!

Well, we're still here! Looks like heaven is a place on earth! I feel for ya Mr. Camping. To base your life on illusion is a sad thing. Fear isn't the way! I have faith that this major foible made by Camping just moves us closer to our true awakening!

We got to spend our Rapture playing some beautiful improvisational electronic music at or good friends Anniversary/Housewarming Party. It was a great way to celebrate heaven on earth! So much fun!!!

Come on out this Wednesday may 25th to the Stork Club. We'll be going on at 9pm.

We're playing with some other great bands!

A night of wine, chips and music!

We had a little L.R.C. (Living Room Concert) at our apartment last night.

What a jolly ole' time.....

I want to thank Ben Laatsch for coming out and playing.... and bringing your lovely friends with you. The night couldn't have turned out more wonderous! I love that word!... Wonderous... is that even a real word?

The purpose of the event was to share some talents and build community around local musicians! I think it's working! Everyone seemed to be happy and wanting to continue to share!

I also want to thank Michelina (I'm not sure of her last name) from the local band The Wicked Little Things for coming out and having a great night with us! I look forward to supporting each others dream in the future.

So I was talking to my Mom today and she was trying convince me in going to see that Justin Bieber documentary. My reaction was "I don't know about that, us underground artist like to make fun of little dudes like that". But she said It was amazingly moving and inspirational. His rise to fame from some nobody kind of guy discovering him on facebook.

She was saying that they were 100% committed no matter what obstacle. Just because there's lack of experience doesn't mean it won't happen..... He knew his purpose and stuck with it. I like that. I'm gonna hold on to that one.

I'll have to go see the movie in disguise. Anyone wanna come?  Or I'll just wait til' it comes out on DVD.

Peace in the middle east!!

What a fun night! I was so grateful to see all my friends come out and support us!

Mama Buzz Cafe is such a cool little epicenter for supporting local artist and musicians I am so happy they exist.

The best quote from the night was said by my friend Jamie Vermillion, "your like a bohemian Justin Timberlake!"

There it is folks! Why would't you want to hear that?
